Design hide the constructive chaos behind a bookshelf in the “Alf“ kitchen, at the touch of a button. But not just any potential chaos, the entire kitchen. All that remains is a minimalistic block of natural stone with an integrated wooden bookshelf. The black, purist stone “Nero assoluto leather“ clearly sets the tone in this design and massively opposes the bright, airy apartment. A stark contrast and a real storage miracle.

This scene is an absolute must in any spy film: It doesn’t matter whether it’s the good guy or the bad guy, at some point something magically appears or disappears at the touch of a button – and everyday rooms convert into weapons depots, listening stations or an escape tunnel. It is not immediately clear whether Who Cares?! Design were inspired by James Bond or “The Man in Black“ for the “Project: Alf“, what is clear, however, is that they resolved a well-known problem with combined kitchen and living rooms and created a space saver from the African stone“Nero assoluto leather“. And something else is quite clear: Nothing is this kitchen is ordinary.

Nowadays, combined kitchen and living areas are more than just a trend. They are an absolute “must have“ for the lifestyle. It’s grabbing a quick coffee, standing at the kitchen island, instead of an elaborate breakfast at the dining table. It’s cooking together with the family or guests, instead of disappearing to prepare and serve the meal. There are no limits to style, colour or choice of material today, but the same problem connects all eat-in kitchens: the post-cooking chaos. Because you don’t always want to clean up straight away. Sometimes you would rather enjoy the evening together with your guests or just be lazy for once. While the dirty pots, pans and plates usually disappear behind the closed kitchen doors, in an eat-in kitchen, the chaos is ever-present. Unless, of course, you turn to the architects from Who Cares?! Design.

Automatic fronts hide the constructive chaos behind a bookshelf in the “Alf“ kitchen, at the touch of a button. Not just any possible chaos, but the entire kitchen. All that remains a minimalistic block of natural stone with an integratedwooden shelf. The black, purist stone “Nero assoluto leather“ clearly sets the tone in this design and massively opposes the bright, airy apartment. A stark contrast and a real storage miracle. But what might appear to be so massive, actually is not. In order to make all the secret agents jealous, the kitchen had to be made in lightweight construction with an interior made of wood. A little trick with great relaxing potential for the builder-owner. The only thing left to do is to admire this designer piece with a Martini in hand. Of course, shaken. Not stirred. And wearing a tux.
