A bistro table as a social utopia, as an everyday monument for the time after: With the "Post Tables", the Viennese designer Walter Grill has designed a series of tables with which you can look optimistically into the future. Post-Corona, Post-War, Post-Apocalypse: The hard times are over. Let's get together and celebrate. The idea came to him in the Schanigarten of his favourite café: "For me, coffee houses are small holiday resorts, and unfortunately they were far too often unreachable in the last two years." Taking in the classic proportions of a bistro table, the "Post Tables" are characterised by their clear design language, which combines aesthetics and practicality. The base made of gold-coloured powder-coated steel was implemented by a dedicated design locksmith in Vienna. Finding out the necessary static properties that the table frame needs to support the stone slab was one of the special challenges here. Its shape gives the table something floating – an elegant spaceship that lands to tell of better times. A very special natural stone from Breitwieser brings the object back to the ground: Verde Borgogna is a stone type that, due to its texture, is reminiscent of nature and landscapes, of openness and freedom. The monumentality of the stone, its time-lasting quality tells at the "Post Tables" about the fact that after times of crisis also good things come again. And that it is best to spend them together at a table.
