The stone worktop of the "RAX" as well as the fronts are supported by steel discs that are reminiscent of the skids of skates. Explain what the draft is all about. Stone is usually something heavy. But here the stone floats above the earth, being lifted by 8-millimetre steel plates. These taper downwards, which gives the design lightness. Between the metal bulkheads is the stone. The steel is vertical, and the stone is horizontal. From this arise beautiful opposites: one has the heavy stone and the lightness. There is also an interplay of closed and open volumes. Harmony is the combination of opposites, the finding of balance.

In what environment do you see the kitchen?
If you put the kitchen on a lawn, the blades of grass are slightly reflected in the bulkheads. The stainless steel produces diffuse reflections. You can also put the kitchen by the sea. We want to construct a base that is buried in the ground. So you can put the kitchen in the sand without the metal swords sinking into it. The kitchen is also ideal on the concrete floor of a terrace. But I would like to see when she is in the water. Perhaps on a level that is only slightly washed over at high tide. The kitchen has power and is as strong as a rock in the sea. At the same time, it can enchant an entire garden. She is a strong statement.
