STONE\LIGHT No. 1

At the centre of ATARA design are extraordinary light objects, in a symbiosis of design, art and architecture. Heike Stuckstedte has designed a series of light sculptures made of different types of marble for Breitwieser Objects. The hard quality of the stone meets soft light, which plays around it in a delicate circle of light, like a breath floating above the stone surface. The two materials light and stone enter into a new connection in this way, in which the hardness of the stone seems to be cancelled out by the lighting and makes it appear soft and graceful. The use of metals such as stainless steel, copper and brass also creates an exciting mix of materials; the contrast with metal and light highlights the marble particularly well. The colours and grains of the stone that have arisen over thousands of years are put in the centre of attention, in the spotlight. This is how "STONE\LIGHT No. 1" becomes a sculptural light object that immerses every room in a breathtaking atmosphere.
